Case
Financials imported from Xero and the other is from Excel.
Guidance:
If the current year figures were imported from a Xero file, but the prior year figures were entered manually or came from a different source, comparatives will not appear automatically in the financial statements template.
This happens because comparatives can only be generated when both years come from the same accounting source.
You may use either of the following options:
Option A — Update the Accounting Source
- Go to the client's accounting source settings.
- Update or reconnect the accounting source.
- Import the additional financial year that needs to be included.
- Refresh the financial statements template.
Once both years are coming from the same accounting source, the comparative figures should become available automatically.
Option B — Use Excel as the Source File
If updating the accounting source is not possible:
- Export or prepare an Excel filecontaining both:
- Current year figures
- Prior year figures
- Upload the Excel file as the new source.
- Ensure both years are included in the same file structure.
- Generate or refresh the financial statements template.
