Issue

The GST reporting option has changed (for example, from Option 2 – Simpler BAS to Option 3 – GST Instalment Method) and the GST option is locked, preventing you from changing it in LodgeiT.


Cause

The GST reporting method is determined by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and is supplied directly when the Activity Statement is prefilled. LodgeiT does not control or modify this setting.

If the Activity Statement only displays Option 3 – GST Instalment Method, it means the ATO has set your GST reporting method accordingly.

Resolution

  1. Check your GST reporting method in the ATO Online Services or your ATO portal.
  2. If you believe your business should be using Option 2 – Simpler BAS, contact the ATO and request a review or update of your GST reporting method.
  3. Once the ATO updates your GST reporting method, retrieve a new Activity Statement in LodgeiT. The updated GST option will be reflected automatically.

Note: LodgeiT can only display the GST reporting method provided by the ATO and cannot override or manually change this setting.
