Error: CMN.ATO.DDCTNS.000155 - at least one deduction details must be provided.

Answer:

This error usually happens during lodgement of an individual tax return or similar form when the deductions section (DDCTNS) has no actual deduction entries but the form still contains deduction fields with zeros or placeholders

What the Error Means

The ATO validation system is expecting at least one deduction entry in the Deductions schedule, but:

  • there are no deduction amounts entered, or

  • the deductions schedule has zero values in deduction fields that should be empty.

Because of this, the lodgment is rejected with the error code.

How to Fix It

If You Don’t Have Any Deductions

  1. Remove any $0 entries in the deductions schedule — don’t leave placeholders.

  2. Deactivate or delete irrelevant “Other Expenses” or “Work-Related Expenses” schedules in your tax software so they’re not sent with zeros.

If Work Related Expenses is irrelevent, just Deactivate financial image of "Other Expenses" and "Work Related Expenses" -  If this is irrelevant, ie there is no deduction for the client.
